Operated by the James Foundation, this is 1 of 4 trout parks in the state. The area is 6 miles southeast of St. James on Highway 8. Both areas are inside Maramec Spring Park.The park is predominantly forest with facilities and features like improved camping, primitive camping, hatchery, picnic areas/pavilions, fishing jetties, viewing decks, Maramec Spring, and 2 permanent streams (Maramec Spring Branch, Meramec (sic) River). The park also features museums, volleyball and tennis courts, and a restaurant. There is also an auto tour route through the park where you can relive history and view the abundant wildlife. Be sure to visit the overlook decks , you are sure to enjoy them. Note : An order of biscuits and gravy with coffee from the restaurant can't be beat after a cold morning of trout fishing.
