This area can be divided into the Black River upstream of Clearwater Lake, Clearwater Lake, and the Black River downstream of Clearwater Lake. Walk-in camping is possible with a permit from the Corps of Engineers (573-223-7777). Seasonal closures may apply. |

On lake and the Black River. Canoe rentals are available nearby. |
| Fishing - Bass |
Good population. Lake regulations apply on Clearwater Lake. Stream regulations apply in Black River upstream of Charlton Bluff and downstream of Clearwater Dam. In the Black River upstream of the Lake, smallmouth bass are common. In the Lake, largemouth bass and spotted bass are the most numerous. In the Black River downstream of Clearwater Lake, spotted bass are abundant. |

Good population. White Bass: Anglers interested in white bass should fish upstream of Bluff View Marina in April. Walleye: The Black River downstream of Clearwater Lake supports excellent walleye and good paddlefish populations. |
