Nightcrawlers

   Nightcrawlers are the most common bait for freshwater fishing. Most fisg , big or small , will eat a nightcrawler. They can be used to catch a variety of fish including Largemouth , Smallmouth , Catfish , and Carp. Small pieces of nightcrawlers can be used to catch  Perch , Bluegill , and Rock Bass. They can be found at bait shops , gas stations and some supermarkets.

 

 

                                              Crayfish

     Crayfish , often referred to as crawfish or crawdads are very popular as bait for a variety of gamefish including Largemouth , Smallmouth , Walleye , and Perch. Before you decide to catch crawdads for bait be sure to check state regulations for your designated fishing area. There are also many jigs and crankbaits that resemble crayfish.

 

 

                          Leeches

      Leeches are a great bait for many different species. They are very hardy and easy to keep alive. They work well for bass , walleye , northern pike , and panfish. Bass love them and can't resist a leeche dropped near a spawning bed. Using leechec will help you catch more bass in the spring.
