Truman Lake

      For months my wife and I talked about taking a trip to Truman Lake but it is hard , sometimes , to break away from those old familiar fishing holes to try something new. It turns out , that our first visit to Truman was accidental as we were rained out and the power knocked out at Happy Hollow Resort on Table Rock Lake , where we had planned to spend our honeymoon. As we packed our bags we decided to try Truman Lake. What a nice suprise that was. We stayed at the Osage Bluff Lodge which had clean and spacious rooms overlooking the lake,Campgrounds,resteraunt,and a full service marina. There were some really big storms go through that week and the lake was high and muddy so we did not fish the lake much. We did have some great fishing for three days in the spillway areas below the lake with stringers of crappie , white bass , and several nice largemouths. We are definitely planning a trip back there this spring.
